about

This track is rather long because
both of these songs are stuck together at source
Little Feat's "Spanish Moon"
(WMG)-(online licence obtained)
was always a highlight of our shows

"Fred The Funky Stargazer"
(Mick Geraghty) Copyright Control
was the first song on Side 2 of
"The Night John Lynch Lost his Glasses"
on cassette
You can see plainly that it was called "Fred"
as "F for Fred The Funk Song"

THIS version, although obviously lo-fi,
captures "Princes Street" in full flight
live at De Lacey house
complete with a samba section...

It was renamed for this compilation
"Fred The Funky Stargazer"
cos Mick Geraghty's lyrics
are about the stars up in the sky
that start to shine
Like "Peter", "Fred", the studio version,
is rather clean and bright...
and short, no samba section...

If you want to hear the original "Fred",
and have a functional cassette tape,
by all means, check out the merch section
on this Bandcamp page and see if they're still on sale
