Sitting In A Bar (Mick Geraghty) Copyright Control
Mick Geraghty wrote this tale of
impending alcoholic squalor sometime in 1984
This song began life as a mid-paced acoustic jaunt
with lotsa harmonies and answering in the chorus...
I went to NYC in 1986
and played this alot along with
another one of Mick's songs, "Turn On"
a family tale... of illegal narcotic bliss...
Both were very popular with NYC audiences
during the summer 1987...
which is when and where
I met Tom Clark from De Kalb Illinois...
Very soonly, the song became a dervishly fast rocker...
~This was the first song on the cassette
"The Night John Lynch Lost his Glasses"
that was released in 1989
If you want a copy of that cassette
by all means, check out the merch section
on this Bandcamp page
and see if they're still on sale
~It was also released in 1997 on a CDLP
entitled
"An Open Kitchen on Princes Street"
on Paddy McNichol's "Rescue Records"
Here's video of Princes Street
performing the song at The Lobby in 1989
