about

Leave This Town, Peter! (LIVE!) (Wedel) IMRO

The Sulan Studio recorded version of this song
was the second track of Side 2 on
"The Night John Lynch Lost his Glasses"
on cassette
You can see plainly that it was called "Peter"
as in "P for Peter The Pop Song"
In the meantime, it's been renamed
"Leave This Town, Peter" because...
don't be ridiculous...stop being silly...

That studio version is rather clean and bright...
which was fine, as there was talk of it being a single,
so to speak, at that point of recording in 1988-89
That didn't happen...
"Sitting in a Bar" and Speak to Me"
got the most media attention

This live version from a gig in 1991
at Nancy Spain's, Cork City
is far more representative of how
we sounded as a live rockin' band

If you want to hear the original "Peter",
and have a functional cassette tape,
by all means, check out the merch section
on this Bandcamp page and see if they're still on sale

~This version was also released
in 1997 on a CDLP entitled
"An Open Kitchen on Princes Street"
on Paddy McNichol's "Rescue Records"
