about

Build It Up (Wedel) IMRO

I remember writing this riff in NYC 1986-87
and then, while watching over my newborn eldest son
one day in Mallow in late 1988 with a guitar writing,
the words of encouragement

The recording is COMPLETELY live at Sulan Studios
(See Credits)
Producer Declan Sinnott and Engineer Phillip Begley
had us set up in nearby rooms
hallways and cubicles to capture the groove
and if you listen, you can hear the whole thing
start to fall apart on the last chorus,
before it goes into double time,
but for Artie's cymbal bashes encouraging us
TO KEEP GOING!
We coulda fixed that with an overdub..
but no dude...that's the real deal...
plus we just never went back to it...

~This wasn't released on any disc until I put out
"An Open Kitchen On Princes Street" as a CDLP
on Paddy McNichol's Rescue Records in 1997
